World Oceans Day

We have some fun events planned in honor of World Oceans Day. At 10 a.m. in the Zoo’s Wegeforth Bowl, San Diego Zoo ambassador Rick Schwartz will present a reading of Dr. Seuss’s One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish—with a little help from some sea lion friends!

Our other marine mammal celebrities, the polar bears, will help celebrate too—as “judges” of a snow sculpture contest. Local artists will be using snow to create unique sculptures inside the Polar Bear Plunge exhibit. The  bears will then come out, and the sculpture they pay the most attention to (i.e., demolish!) will be the winner. Join us for the all the excitement!
